The Chinese plan to launch three artificial moons


China has announced the opening of three artificial moons in space over the next four years to illuminate cities at night and reduce the need for street lights. The first moon is eight times brighter than the actual moon will be launched in 2020 in southwestern Chengdu.

The calm plan has been greeted with some skeptics and right, says Dr. Alan Duffy, astronomer and researcher Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne.
