Google is releasing a new Chrome feature that allows users to link to highlighted text on a webpage.
The new feature will be introduced as part of Chrome 90. Google Product Manager Kayce Hawkins introduced the new feature in a blog post.
In the “Copy link to highlight” section, you can split the URL into selected text that is highlighted to the recipient, “Hawkins notes.
Hawkins says that when you visit a webpage, all you have to do is highlight the text you want to link to, and then select the “Copy link to highlight” option from the menu when you right-click.
From there, users are given a URL ending in a pound sign, which can then be shared with others. When others click on the link, they are sent to the text you highlighted unlike at the top of the webpage.
Hawkins says this feature is now available for desktop and Android users. It will soon be available for iOS users.
