Castilla y León, the pioneer, links the Men ACWY vaccine to its calendar

DIARIOFARMA | 16.12.2018 – 21:48

Castilla y León is the first independent community to include four-fold meningitis in ACWY's vaccine calendar. The Ministry of Health of Castile and León has approved an order that has approved Castilla y León's "official calendar for systematic vaccination throughout life", where the most important novelty is the inclusion of this immunization.

Thus, in addition to the benefits of the joint vaccination program approved by the Public Health System (CISNS) on 15 November 2018, this Community immunization plan includes several polyvalent vaccines, an extended spectrum against meningococcal meningitis and human papillomavirus.

This calendar, which will enter into force in 2019, has adapted the changes in the epidemiological situation in the Community. And in this regard conjugate vaccines containing serine groups "Y and W" for conjunctival vaccines for 12 months and 12 years are used in meningitis. This is, as they argue in their own order, that there are no cases before five years ago in the Community, but now they are demonstrating a rising pattern in our country.

Another new calendar novelty regarding human papillomavirus is to determine that vaccines containing nine genotypes of this virus are used to vaccinate girls at the age of 12. Specifically, the text states that it is to be immunized with vaccines containing types 31 and 52, as in the Castilla y León community they are four times more than twenty-nine and four-count vaccine contained 18, they claim the order.
