Since six are not enough …
This week, notably on November 20, LG Electronics would have won the patent of the USPTO (US Patent and Trademark Office) patent for 16 cameras.
Before 2016, when the bi-cameras boom exploded, LG had already done so. At the beginning of 2011, they presented LG Optimus 3D, with a double camera, to add a 3D effect to the images.
Although Optimus 3D was not a success, a year later, with the LG G5, the South Korean manufacturer definitely came to market in several cameras markets. This is the time and the competition for which the team offers the best picture is crucial to many users when it comes to switching equipment (in fact, Samsung works with six teams).
And now, LG Electronics has patented a smartphone with sixteen camera lenses! Is it possible? Apparently, because the documents mention that they are already thinking of possible scenarios of photographs.
For example, a leaked Letsgodigital portal allows a user to select a specific lens to take a photo or shoot multiple objects at the same time to select the best picture in a series. At the same time it would be possible to combine different lenses simultaneously with the moving image.
