WhatsApp removes all conversations that have not been saved and updated to Google Drive

Any backups that were not updated over a year will be automatically removed.

The world's most popular instant messaging software confirmed its previous announcement that Monday, all users who have not backed up their stored data and conversations in Google Drive will lose their chat history.

WhatsApp, owned by tech-giant Facebook, had reached agreement with Google last August to save user content to Google Drive's cloud services without affecting the user's maximum, said Efe.

Additionally, WhatsApp warned that all backups that had not been upgraded over a year would also automatically be removed from Google Drive.

This way, users can also easily download data to different Android smartphones.

Android users can update their copy and set it up as long as they have a personal account on Google.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp CEO and founder Jan Koum announced that he would leave Facebook.
