Martin O 'Neill is back to critics who believe he should have the future of the never-ending Declan Rice project with Ireland.
O & # 39; Neill now believes that Rice will make its final decision by the end of the year on whether the republic will continue – after appearing during the three friendly matches – or accept the invitation by Gareth Southgate to join its English plans.
O & # 39; Neill suspects that Rice recently met Southgate for a second time – and that a teenager was influenced by a statistical presentation of what he would do to set up Three Lions.
"I do not think English has seen him more than the time when they took him up," he said.
"Obviously, if we bring someone up, you should tell them where you feel they are.
"I do not think that in all honesty Gareth has gone and promised him the country.
"I think he has said," You are a really decent player, look at the competition we have, but let's look at what you can do. The decision is then only for you ".
"I would like to go see him again – and will do so.
"Her father seems to be a decent gentleman and I have been in contact with him. I think he just wants to settlement issues.
"Maybe an ongoing agreement is part of what he thinks. By the end of the day, if he makes a choice and happens to be in English, then I'll follow it."
O & # 39; Neill admits that from the point of view of history it is clear that the choice of England for finals and their performance is stronger.
"There are things," he said.
"Then, in addition to this and today's and commercial, if it really, really is a strong one-person affection to go to England, then it has to be taken into account.
"I do not honestly believe that it is the most important idea in a family who would like her to make a decision before the end of the year.
"England has gone to the World Cup Finals and if you think you have the chance to play them, of course these things will affect you.
"He was born in England. Sometimes these things are overlooked – but he actually was born.
"The difference between him and Jack Grealish – and it can be a strong difference – is that the family would like him to play for us.
"In Jack's case, the family wanted him to play in England."
It has been argued that O & # 39; Neill could have tied the star of West Hama in Ireland by restricting him in the competitive sport – the World Cup qualifier against Moldova last October.
Rice's first participation in the senior Irish team was friendly to Turkey five months later.
Amazed O & # 39; Neill said, "When could I cut her up? You have to earn to come to the top of the page.
"I have no worries about it. I could also try to get 16-year-olds to compete with competing football.
"You try to win soccer matches – but stop the 15-year-olds from competing football just to play in Ireland over the next 15 years, you should not do that.
"Moldova" Before we played in Wales, where we were desperate to win the game, it is such a fool that has certainly not come to my head.
"My job is to try and win football matches and be competitive, let the players go through – and the coming players will ultimately hope to choose themselves."
O & # 39; Neill is doubtful that Rice could have retired from the choice of the Moldovan game because he would have known playing the game.
"I would not have slipped him into the field because he would have known it," he said. "Players are well aware of the rules.
"He could have said," Well, if I go here I'll make a choice ".
"He might have thought," otherwise I do not want to be here at all because it might affect me. "
"Declan has kept these ideas in his head for some time".
