Most sexual predators of the sex offenders are known as victims: the police

SHAH ALAM: Selangor police statistics reveal that 75.7 percent of cases of sexual offenses to children have been reported in Selangor since January this year were known to the victims.

AC Fadzil Ahmat, head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at Selangor, told a father or father, a grandchild, his or her parents, a nanny, a son or a son, a neighbor and a mother's boyfriend about the sexual predators of the victims.

According to him, according to statistics, the number of cases increased, in 333 cases, 287 cases last year.

According to him, of the 333 cases reported this year, 201 cases were reported with victims below 18 years of age, and 82 cases of "No Further Action" (NFA) and 51 others are pending.

"We expect that the growth will continue with the approaching school holidays, so we hope that co-operation between parents will always follow the movement and action of their children, especially with the use of armholes and the use of social media," said Selangor CID Media Talk here today.

Fadzil said that sexual offenses against children are affecting the influence of social media, technological development, parental self-determination in their children's activities and movement, curiosity and peer influence.

He said that victims of sexual crimes or witnesses could contact the nearest police station reporting sexual crimes or aid.

"In this area, the role of teachers in schools is very important to detect changes in their students, such as depressed or silent. Teachers should issue a police report if they suspect that their studies are victims of sexual offenses," he added.

In order to facilitate the registration of reports of victims of sexual offenses against children, he noted that the police had established a child interview center (CIC) for all contingents and was run by trained civil servants who registered statements of victims of under 16 years of age. – Bernama
