Kiosque360. The government has recently adopted a law that increases the threshold for microcredit to 150,000 dirhams.

This is good news for most Moroccan households. In fact, the threshold for microcredit is growing. So, notice Today Morocco who is interested in delivering time, this threshold, which is currently 50,000 dirhams, should increase to 150,000 dirhams. This is in any case what is provided for in Bill No 85-18, which amends Law No 18.97 on microcredit and is approved on board premises last Thursday.

The newspaper says that the text requires that the amount granted does not exceed the threshold of 150 000 dirhams and that the purpose of this law is to improve access to finance for small businesses and to meet the expectations of growth and sustainability. Today Morocco It also adds that this text seeks to promote professionalism in the micro-credit sector, reinforcing its integration into the financial environment and supporting revenue-generating activities in order to promote harmonious development of the sector.

It is a real reform that is related to this law, which, after accepting, provides a new dynamics for microfinance in Morocco. It should be noted that in 2016, the number of 900,000 customers in microcredit was 45 per cent when the average loan of the micro-credit associations was about 7,000 dirhams. It is self-evident that microcredit plays a very important social role.
