It is the tenth Ebola epidemic that has plagued the country since 1976 and the second this year. Pest control measures are hindered by violence and political unrest in different areas. On Friday, after the visit of the Director-General of the World Health Organization, the UN's security chief called on to prevent the aid provided. He focused on armed groups working in the eastern part of the country.

The teams involved in counter-operations face threats, physical attacks, repeated destruction and kidnapping of equipment, "he said." Two of our colleagues in the emergency department have even been killed in an attack. "This year Ebola has been vaccinated and more than 11,000 Congolese have been vaccinated in France.

Northern Congo

Northeast Congo is a controversial area where many armed groups are in conflict with each other. In Beni, the major cities of the North Kivu province and in the middle of the battle, the relief efforts were halted several days in September after the attack.

Mistrust is also a difficult factor in the struggle. Some Congolese think that treatment centers are intended for organ trafficking, the Red Cross employee said earlier NRC. Soft suits that are used by emergency workers to prevent an infection add to fuel suspect. As a result, some people refuse to come to treatment centers and sometimes even fall, causing the spread of the virus further.

Without the vaccine or treatment, an infected person has a 90% chance of dying of Ebola virus. Contamination occurs in contact with a person suffering from the illness. Fatal fever, muscle pain and weakness (dry phase) followed by vomiting, diarrhea, rash, impaired liver function and sometimes bleeding ("wet phase").
