More than 27.85 Lakh children were given a measles-ruble (MR) vaccine during a vaccination campaign in Jammu and Kashmir, an official said on Saturday. The campaign was launched on September 24, covering almost nine months and a 15-year-old group of nearly 38 lakh children to eliminate the congenital rubella syndrome caused by rupel virus.
"The state has a total of 37,72,960 children, 27,85,731 of which have been vaccinated to date by 17,00,994 in the Kashmir Department and 10,84,737 in the Jammu area," said spokeswoman.
The campaign is expected to take place by the end of this month on 20 October. Against the deadline. The measles-rubella campaign marks the introduction of a ruble vaccine for the first time in India's childhood immunization program.
