Apple Finds Quality Problems in Some iPhone X and MacBook Pro Units, Tech News & Top Stories

SAN FRANCISCO (REUTERS) – Apple said on Friday (9 November) that it had found some problems with some iPhones and 13-inch MacBook Pro products and said the company would repair them for free.

Repairs are the latest quality of the product last year, although Apple has raised prices for most of its portable computers, tablets and phones to new heights.

Its premium-quality iPhones now sell up to $ 1449 ($ 1,998) and its best iPad goes up to $ 1,899.

Apple said that iPhones from the iPhone X, which appeared from 2017, with a starting price of $ 999, may experience touch problems due to a component failure. It replaces those parts for free.

The company said it only affects the original iPhone X, which has been replaced by the iPhone XS and XR released in the autumn.

The phones on the screen may not respond properly, or they could react even without touching it, said Californian Cupertino.

For 13-inch MacBook Pro computers, it reported that the problem could lead to data storage and data loss. Apple said it would serve those stations.

Apple reported on its website only a limited number of 128GB and 256GB hard drives in the 13-inch MacBook Pro units that sold between June 2017 and June 2018.

Last year, Apple launched a massive battery replacement program after it admitted that a software update aimed at helping some iPhone models deal with aging batteries slowed down the phone's performance.

Abuse of the battery resulted in inquiries from US legislators.

In June, Apple said it provides free replacement for keyboards on some MacBook and MacBook Pro models.

The keyboards that Apple introduced on laptops since 2015 had caused complaints about social media, how much noise they did when writing and disrupting unexpectedly.

Apple changed keyboard design this year by adding a silicone layer under the key.
