At Joko and Klaas ProSieben, the nursing staff spoke their words for seven hours unfiltered and without interruption. Nursing staff and spectators are in contact. Action # Of course not flooded with social media on Thursday.
Either and Klaas have often raised concerns with their TV campaigns. So also on Wednesday, when they sent for almost seven hours in a German care emergency at the best time until Thursday morning. Two entertainers, Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, can earn 15 minutes of free-to-air airtime from their employer on “Joko & Klaas v. ProSieben”. For the campaign, Moderators had this time asked ProSieben for a little more time than a regular quarter hour.
The program, where both bowed to the nursing staff, ran completely without advertising. Motto # No words, of course, for women and men in hospitals and nursing homes.
For example, with a small camera, the public can watch the change of health and nurse Meike Istan in the bone marrow and transplant center at Münster University Hospital. Patient rounds were displayed in their entirety, each individual work step could be seen. The viewer could personally experience what it means to work in nursing.
Bielefeld intensive care nurse Ralf Berning pointed out the constant overload. He knows people who work 23 days in a row, which is “completely inhumane.” He had been a soldier for a long time and would rather return to Afghanistan than experience something as bad again as during the second Corona wave in the fall. Many would also give up their jobs because they could no longer, the program says.
The Cologne nurse said in the program that it was sad that the pandemic was necessary to illustrate the difficult care situation in Germany. The geriatric nurse said it was bad that sometimes only two nurses were responsible for 35 care needs. The audience reacted enthusiastically to the TV experiment, as did many nurses themselves.
Even the TV competition was impressed.
